Sagoss Modern Slavery Act 2015 (Section 54) Statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2025
Our Commitment to Tackling Modern Slavery: Statement & Compliance Plan
Sagoss fully recognises the importance of combating modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms. We are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards and transparency across our business and supply chain operations.
We are a “relevant commercial organisation” as defined in Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, and we confirm full compliance with its requirements and associated guidance. This plan sets out the actions we are taking to prevent slavery and human trafficking, in line with our annual Modern Slavery Statement.
1. Organisation Structure, Business and Supply Chains
Sagoss is a UK-based technology company specialising in parking management systems, hosted infrastructure, and public-sector service delivery. Our operations are predominantly digital, with minimal reliance on physical goods. Where hardware is provided, this is sourced through trusted UK-based suppliers with clear ethical and legal obligations.
Our supply chain is short, controlled, and primarily UK-based, involving cloud infrastructure partners, IT vendors, installation contractors, and software providers.
2. Policies on Slavery and Human Trafficking
We have a clear Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy that outlines our zero-tolerance stance and the responsibilities of our employees, suppliers, and partners. This policy is reviewed annually and applies to all parts of our business.
Key policy elements include:
- Prohibition of any form of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour
- Requirements for suppliers to comply with the Modern Slavery Act
- Reporting mechanisms for concerns or breaches
3. Due Diligence Processes
Sagoss carries out supplier due diligence at the onboarding stage and throughout the contract lifecycle. This includes:
- Pre-contract risk assessment based on geography, industry, and service type
- Requirement for suppliers to provide modern slavery declarations
- Clauses in supplier agreements regarding compliance with the Act
4. Risk Assessment and Management
We assess areas of potential risk within our supply chain, with a focus on any use of subcontracted labour or international sourcing. Although our direct operations are low-risk, we remain vigilant in:
- Reviewing the labour practices of installation and manufacturing partners
- Ensuring transparency in subcontracting arrangements
- Prioritising UK-based suppliers with ethical procurement frameworks
5. Measuring Effectiveness
We measure the effectiveness of our approach using internal indicators, including:
- % of suppliers assessed for modern slavery risk
- % of contracts including modern slavery clauses
- Number of concerns raised or investigations initiated (currently zero)
We also review any updates in guidance or case law annually to improve our controls.
6. Staff Training and Awareness
We provide regular training and internal communications on modern slavery, with a focus on:
- How to spot red flags in supply chains or recruitment
- How to report concerns safely and confidentially
- The wider social and legal context of the Modern Slavery Act
New starters receive awareness training during onboarding, and refresher content is provided as part of our compliance cycle.
Ongoing Commitment
Modern slavery is an ongoing global issue, and we are committed to playing our part in eliminating it. Sagoss will continue to review, improve, and strengthen its processes in line with best practice and evolving legislation.
